The best preparation for the first period
The first period comes for every girl — but when, you rarely know in advance. That’s why it’s nice to be prepared well ahead of time, so the day can be met with calm instead of panic and an urgent trip to the supermarket.
This starter kit is made for those of you who want to use reusable period products and be ready in plenty of time. Sit down together — you and your daughter — and order the kit as a cosy, shared moment. You talk about what’s going to happen, your daughter chooses her own colours, and she feels that you want the best for her and want to support her in having a safe and confident start to her first period. The starter kit — My First Period Kit — is the most caring gift you can give your daughter.
Because a girl who is prepared meets her first period with calm and confidence. And that is the finest gift you can give her.

Do you need more underwear?
This starter kit is meant as a place to begin — a chance to see, feel, and try the different products at your own pace. If you like them, it’s a really good idea to buy more.
Two pairs of period underwear are a lovely start for the day itself — but for a full period, you’ll need more. We recommend 7–10 pairs in total, so there’s enough to rotate between changes, washing, and drying time, and your daughter never finds herself without a clean pair.
You can easily add extra pairs when you order the kit. See all the teen period underwear.
How to use the starter kit
We’ve put a lot of thought into this starter kit. These are our suggestions — but of course, you’re welcome to use it in whatever way feels right for you.
Step 1: Order the kit together
Find a quiet moment and order the starter kit together. Your daughter chooses her own colours for the cloth pads and wet bag. It’s her kit — and it should feel that way.
Step 2: Unpack and explore together
When the kit arrives, go through everything at your own pace. Talk about what each product is for and how it works. Let her try on the underwear and feel how soft and comfortable they are. Practise putting a cloth pad in the underwear so it sits correctly. It makes all the difference on the day she has to do it herself.
Step 3: Put the kit away
Once you’ve been through everything, put the kit in the cupboard — ready and waiting. Just knowing it’s there brings peace of mind. Your daughter will never have to search or improvise on the day her period arrives.
Step 4: When her period arrives
Bring out the kit — you’re ready, and she knows exactly what to do. As a loving little celebration of the day, she also gets her bracelet and a piece of chocolate from the kit.
Dark chocolate contains magnesium, which relaxes muscles and can help ease period cramps — and it gives the mood a little lift too. So that small piece isn’t just a treat for the sweet tooth.
When to buy the starter pack?
The best time to buy the starter kit is well before the first period arrives — so you have time to practise, talk, and look forward to it together without any rush.
The body sends its own small signs when the first period is getting close.
Discharge has started — the body’s own way of preparing. From this point, the first period typically arrives within 6–12 months
Breasts have started to develop
The first pubic hair
She has had a growth spurt and grown quickly over the past year
She is somewhere between 10 and 14 years old
When you recognise these signs, it’s a good time to get the starter kit — My First Period Kit.
The kit may end up sitting in the cupboard for a while, and that’s completely fine. We offer a free first-time size exchange.
