Elskbar has designed Heavy Flow for those who need extra protection. There are 4 layers of bamboo in the gusset, and one layer continues all the way around the back of the underwear. They absorb up to 40 ml and can last a whole night, so you don’t have to worry about leakage on the bedding. On the days when you bleed the most, you can also use them during the day.

If you bleed a lot, you can put a Elskbar clothwipe at the top of the underwear. This gives you 4 extra layers of absorbency.

Elskbar Heavy Flow underwear can also be used for incontinence.

After giving birth, you often bleed a lot for several weeks, and the body needs peace and care. Heavy Flow absorbs a lot, and the high waist fits softly around the stomach without being too tight. Then you can give your body what it needs while you take care of your baby.

It depends on how much you bleed. We recommend changing in the morning, after work and before bedtime. On the days when you bleed a lot, you can also change at noon. At the end of your period, you may be able to use a single pair of period underwear for a whole day. It is very individual, and you must therefore try out what works for you.

You can feel that it’s time to change when the panties start to feel heavy or when the blood approaches the elastic in the gusset.

What touches your body matters. Therefore, the underwear are primarily made of TENCEL™, which is made of wood fibers and feels silky soft against the skin. The absorbent layers of the gusset are made of bamboo, which is soft and absorbs well. Underneath the bamboo is a breathable, waterproof layer with a TPU membrane that keeps the blood in.

The design is simple and beautiful: a small logo, a thin and soft elastic and no visible seams. The elastics do not leave marks or tighten a sore menstrual stomach.

Many period underwear products are black on the inside. At Elskbar, we have deliberately chosen a white inside because it makes it easy to see the color and amount of your blood. Your period can tell you a lot about your cycle and your health, and it’s nice to be able to keep up.

The white inside also makes it easier to assess when it’s time to change the underwear.

1. Wear them like your regular underwear.
2. Live your day as usual.
3. Switch when they feel heavy or the blood is approaching the elastic in the gusset.
4. If you are out of the house, bring an extra pair. The used ones can be left in a small Elskbar wetbag until you get home again.
5. Rinse the underwear in cold water until the water runs clear.
6. Wash at a maximum of 40 degrees and hang them to dry.
7. Now they are ready to take care of you again.

Try out 2-3 pairs and see how you feel about them. Most people end up with 7-10 pairs in total, depending on how often you change and how often you wash.

Yes. Heavy Flow can last a whole night, and the absorbent layers extend up the back, so you are protected when lying down.

How much can period underwear absorb?
It varies from underwear to underwear. Heavy Flow absorbs up to 40 ml, and with an Elskbar cloth wipe on top, you can give it extra absorbency.

Can you wear period underwear after giving birth?
Yes. Heavy Flow is made for heavy bleeding and is comfortable to wear in the time after birth.

Are period underwear free of PFAS?
Not all. Elskbar period underwear are tested free of PFAS by an independent third party.

How often should you change your ?
Typically 2–3 times a day, depending on how much you bleed.
