Why choose Elskbar ?
If you want soft, natural materials against your skin during your period, you’ve come to the right place. We’ve created the ultimate period underwear: it has a white inner lining, has been tested free from PFAS and absorbs so well that you can move through your day without worrying about leaks.
Every detail has been thoughtfully designed with you in mind.
I love my period underwear from Elskbar. They're so much better than all the others I've tried. I sleep soundly through the night and have never leaked with Elskbar. And unlike every other kind, neither my skin nor my mucous membranes get irritated, thanks to the bamboo material.
Period underwear for everyday wear and moderate flow
Elskbar designed Regular Flow for the days with a moderate flow. The absorbent area is the same size as a disposable pad. On top is a soft layer of bamboo velour, and beneath it are two more absorbent layers of bamboo terry. Regular Flow holds up to 30 ml, so you can go to work, cycle and exercise without worrying about your period. If your flow is light, you can also sleep in them.
Regular Flow can also be used for light incontinence.
If you have a heavy flow, Heavy Flow is the best choice, especially on the first day of your period and at night. Many people have both Regular and Heavy Flow and switch between them throughout their period.
How often should you change your period underwear?
It depends on how heavy your flow is. We recommend changing in the morning, after work and before bed. On heavier days, you can also change around lunchtime. Towards the end of your period, one pair may be enough for the whole day. Everyone is different, so try it out and find what works for you.
You’ll know it’s time to change when your underwear starts to feel heavy, or when the blood gets close to the elastic edge of the gusset. That way, you avoid leaks.
TENCELâ„¢ and bamboo against your skin
What touches your body every day should feel good. The underwear is made mainly from TENCELâ„¢, a soft fabric made from wood fibres that feels light and smooth against your skin. The gusset has absorbent layers of bamboo, and beneath them is a breathable TPU membrane that keeps everything in.
The underwear has been tested PFAS-free by an independent third party. Read more in our guide: Does your period underwear contain PFAS?
There are no visible seams, just a small logo and a thin, soft elastic. It sits comfortably without pressing or leaving marks on your belly.
A white inside with a reason
Many brands of period underwear are black on the inside. At Elskbar, we’ve deliberately chosen a white inner lining, because it makes it easy to see the colour and amount of your blood. Your period can tell you a lot about your cycle and your health, and it’s good to be able to keep track.
The white inner lining also makes it easier to tell when it’s time to change your underwear.
